The knowledge of the vibrational relaxation reaction rates ofdiatomic and triatomic molecules is required for the modelling ofnumerous gaseous mixtures such as the Earth atmosphere (involvingradiation transfer phenomena), exhaust plumes, after body wakes, Marsatmosphere, shock waves and chemical lasers. It enables a betterunderstanding of the chemical reaction product rates and provides thepopulations of the radiating levels. In this study, we consider thefew lowest vibrational levels of a CO_2-N_2 mixture and the V- TandV-V energy transfer processes between these levels.
