摘要

The magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of Nd _(0.2)Gd_(0.8)Mn_2Ge_2 compound were studied by means of X-ray diffraction and magnetization measurements. The sample was prepared by arc-melting. The compound crystallizes in the tetragonal ThCr _2Si_2-type structure with a I4mmm space group. Re-entrant ferrimagnetism is observed for the sample. The compensation point has been observed at 82 K. The maximum magnetic entropy change ΔSmax of Nd _(0.8)Gd_(0.2)Mn_2Ge_2 is 0.812 J kg ~(-1) K~(-1) for a field change of 01 T.
