A new grade of hollow bar from Sandvik Steel has been developed to withstand attacks from chlorides and other chemicals without corroding.The Sandvik Sanmac SAF2205 (UNS S318030 duplex stainless steel is resistant to pitting, crevice, erosion and general types of corrosion. Because its mechanical strength is said to be twice that of standard stainless steel, this duplex grade is also impervious to corrosion fatigue.
