摘要

Energy consumed for train operation accounts for the largest part consumed in the business activity of a railway operator1). To save energy, improvement of the control to obtain more regenerative energy is considered to be a solution. Light-load regeneration control, which is one of the functions for controlling the regenerative brake in DC electric railcars, has been improved by enhancing the drive control capability of the main circuit system. This article describes the specific improvement of control in the commuter trains of JR East and its effect.
