Cyril Northcote Parkinson, 1909#x2013;1993, coined the phrase #x2018;Parkinson's law#x2019; in an article published by theEconomistin 1958: work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion. Parkinson collected his aphorisms and published them in a book. This article argues, as recent events show, that work expands so as to fill the computers available#x2014;and then overflows, but it needn't!
