摘要

Since there are many old bridges in Japanese railways, it is becoming more and more important to prioritize those bridges in terms of need for maintenance. Soundness evaluation of bridge piers whose bearing capacity decreases due to scouring etc. has been performed by a field test so far. On the other hand, the labor saving and improvement of the maintenance process by frequent diagnosis can be expected by introducing monitoring methodology to maintenance of the piers. This article presents monitoring system of bridge piers by using wireless sensor network technologies.
