The floor was filled with new machinery at the 5th TI/TMA Tradefair in Charlotte, N.C. But the hottest stock in trade seemed to be the personal contacts among tobacco-related businesses from around the globe looking for information on how to reach newmarkets. Overall response to the Trade-Fair was summarized by Martin Caulfield, deputy chairman of Filtrona Instruments Automation Limited ((FIAL), who judges a tradefair by number and quality of those in attendance. "We would have liked to have seena larger show, but the contacts we did have were of a very high quality. People were very interested in our new QTM's (quality test modules). Overall I can say that we were quite pleased."
