A conversation with Carlos Voss is as reassuring as his images are beautiful. His soft-spoken manner conveys a quiet confidence that has been earning him the praises of bridal clients for the past 13 years. Based in Highland, California, an hour east of L.A., he's shooting 40 weddings a year, but still enjoying the excitement of discovering new venues and of making extraordinary images come to life for each new bride. But then, great wedding shots are a family tradition. Voss's father started covering weddings over 30 years ago, while his brother and now photography partner, Manuel, assisted. Carlos started years later, but now his two sons are shooting as well. "I love shooting with my broth- er," he says. "He'll get some shots I won't see, and vice versa. When you have two people shooting with the same vision, and they're shooting constantly, the final results compared to doing it alone are vastly improved."
