摘要

Strong cyclonic flow induced discharge confinement has been used for the first time to efficiently select the lower order transverse modes in a fast axial flow high power cwhyphen;CO2laser. The laser performance with and without the cyclonic flow has been compared. Comparison has also been made with the conventional aperture method of selection of lowerhyphen;order transverse modes.
