UGS Corp., Piano, TX, has unveiled Tecnomatix Version 8, the latest release of its suite of digital manufacturing software. Tecnomatix 8 product lifecycle management (PLM) software includes several significant enhancements focused on helping companies improve manufacturing predictability and quality by better anticipating potential shop floor issues originating in product and/or process design, according to UGS officials. Tecnomatix 8 enhancements fall into two major categories: added strength for PLM integration and the introduction of upgraded process planning and simulation capability. The reported result is improved predictability from product development to the shop floor, enabling companies to improve manufacturability of product designs and to design robust, reliable and optimized manufacturing processes.
