International ALUMINIUM Journal, talked with Thomas Winterfeldt, executive vice-president Forging Plants at SMS group, about the current developments in the business areas of Extrusion Presses, Forging Technology and Additive Manufacturing. Thomas Winterfeldt (aged 48) has been executive vice-president Forging Plants at SMS group since 1 January 2018. After graduating from RWTH Aachen University as mechanical engineer, he started his professional career in 1996 at Mannesmann Demag, which in 1999 merged with SMS Schloemann-Siemag into SMS Meer GmbH.
