Casual observers of Jerry Uelsmann's extraordinary black-and-white images might easily assume that his dreamlike creations are digital concoctions. They would be wrong. Uelsmann is a dedicated denizen of the darkroom, although he readily admits that just about any of his works could be mistaken for computer renderings. "From a technical perspective, any image I've created could be done on a computer and could actually be done better, in terms of finessing details and flaws," said Uelsmann.
