The exchange interaction between band carriers and localized magnetic moments was studied in MBE grown zinc blende Mg1-xMnxTe epilayers. Magnetic circular dichroism and magnetization were measured as a function of magnetic field at low temperature. The obtained exchange parameter (N(0)alpha - N(0)beta) is lower than in Cd1-xMxTe and Zn1-xMnxTe. Possible mechanisms leading to weaker s,p-d exchange interaction in Mg1-xMnxTe are discussed.
