The service properties of some selected made-in-Nigeria carpets have been investigated. Properties studied include abrasion resistance, soil retention, light and wash fastness, electrostatic, flammability, tuft withdrawal force, dynamic and static loadings. The results obtained showed that the constructional parameters as well as the finishing treatments given to the carpets have significant influence on their service properties.
