PIAB Vacuum Products, Hingham, MA, announces the launch of a new line of modular automation tooling. PIAB's Modular Automation Tooling (PMAT) allows the construction of vacuum end-effector tools to meet exact needs with minimal design time. The tooling system, of primarily hard-coat anodized aluminum, is light-weight and simple to assemble onsite without welding or use of special tools. It consists of swivel-arm assembly with a choice of functional attachments including an air-driven vacuum pump that provides vacuum pressure through COAX technology and a connection for blow-off pressure. It can be equipped with a check-valve feature called VacTrap.
