Entertron Industries, in conjunction with KTI Technologies, has introduced a redundant control system designed for press manufacturers. The CM-1805-AS module reportedly can do what usually requires two programmable logic controllers and two safety relays for redundancy and safety. It allows end users to retrofit their current press-control systems using much of their current control components such as switches, indicator lights, enclosure and motor starters. The module and 9020C console clutch/brake controls meet or exceed OSHA 1910.217 and ANSI B11.1-1988 standards for control reliability. Features include on/off and inch, single and continuous press operation; top-stop operation; and anti-tiedown and anti-repeat functions.
