Perforated plate matrix heat exchangers are widely used in cryocoolers, helium liquefiers and in aerospace applications. The heat transfer and flow friction characteristics of these heat exchangers are strong functions of geometric parameters such as the plate porosity, plate thickness, spacer thickness and the diameter of the perforation. These geometric parameters have been varied experimentally and generalized correlation for 'j' and 'f' obtained. The transient test data has been reduced using methods presented in a complimentary paper. The correlation is useful in optimum sizing of a MHE.
