"This photo was taken at my hometown airport in Zagreb, on a cold January night. It was Friday and the weather conditions were gloomy. Thick clouds covered the horizon-just as it is supposed to be on a Friday 13th! One could feel the dense smell of snow as freezing temperatures transformed moisture into thick ice drops. When the sun set, a strong blizzard came rolling down from the North, threatening to close the airport. It was then that I saw the airport's ground operations team fighting the bad weather while trying to keep traffic on schedule. I grabbed my camera and shot a couple photos trying to capture the drama as it unfolded. And it looks like I managed to do it quite well! I've always liked de-icing as it brings a special romantic feeling to my photos."
