AbstractThe island‐like inclusions that appear inside the range of the return map in Chua's circuit are investigated further. the condition for the creation of a new inclusion is shown to be closely related to the selection rule for the critical curve ø. Moreover, a solution of this problem can also be given in terms of λ, the boundary of the return map's domain, and so in simpler form. the phases of the special trajectories that mark the creation of an inclusion turn out to be virtually invariant through all values of the canonical parameter ρ. Moreover, the phase difference between subsequent creations appears to be close to a constant too. This fact allows one to formulate explicit expressions for the limiting behaviour of the creation cu
