摘要

The authors present a brief summary of the properties of alkali metals on III-V(110) surfaces, as studied with the scanning tunneling microscope (STM). These include the non-metallic properties found in the one- and two-dimensional phases, and the directional diffusion of the alkali atoms due to the electric field gradient in the STM junction.
