The CAS Symposium on Data Mining and Knowledge Management was held from July 12 to 14 in Beijing. As a forum for exchanging research findings and case studies in the field, the conference addressed issues in data mining technology, knowledge management tools and their real-life applications in the context of global economy. More than 60 Chinese and foreign scholars participated in the meeting. Under the joint sponsorship of CAS, the National Natural Science Foundation of China and U.S. University of Nebraska at Omaha, the conference was hosted by the CAS Institute of Policy and Management (IPM) with the assistance from the Graduate School of CAS (GSCAS) and Japan-based International Journal of Information Technology and Decision.
