We first flew with Qatar Airways {Airways, October 2008, February October 2007, September 2002; Reviews, November 2003) in 2006, and more recently have preferred to use this carrier-fares permitting. Importantly, in our opinions the two seven-hour sectors with a break of a couple of hours or so on the ground in Doha is a better regime for avoiding some of the health problems associated with long-haul flying, especially deep vein thrombosis (DVT). I certainly feel less physically stressed, thanks to access to the amenities of the Qatar Airways Premium Terminal for transit passengers at Doha International. In January 2011, as part of the ongoing reorganization and refurbishment of Heathrow, Qatar Airways moved its operations from Terminal 3 to Terminal 4, and currently operates four flights a day to Doha, facilitating convenient onward connections.
