摘要

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of nitrate ions (NO_3~-) on the critical pitting temperature (CPT) of Co_(1.5)CrFeNi_(1.5)Ti_(0.5)Mo_(0.1) in chloride solutions using the potentiodynamic polarization method. Results indicate that the values of CPT for the alloy in 1 (mol/L) M sodium chloride (NaCI), 1 M NaCI with 0.1 M sodium nitrate (NaNO_3), and 1 M NaCI with 1 M NaNO_3 are 60, 70, and more than 80℃, respectively. Moreover, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images show that nitrate ions enhance the initiation of pits, but impede the growth of preexisting pits on the surface of the alloy.
