Dallas-Oxea has started construction on a new world-scale propanol unit (Propanol 2) at its Bay City, Texas, production site (PCN, 12 Oct 2015, p 2). The new propanol plant will add 100,000 t/y of propanol capacity and 40,000 t/y of propionaldehyde capacity. The facility is scheduled to come on stream in 2018. Jacobs Engineering was awarded the construction management contract for the Propanol 2 project.
