The measurement of volume of gas delivered to customers is the key measurement in the gas industry. Field measuring instruments measure volume at line pressure and temperature which is called uncorrected volume. Also measured pressure and temperature of gas and sometimes gas composition. This additional data is employed to convert uncorrected volume to corrected volume which is volume at standard pressure and temperature. Corrected volume is used to bill residential customers (home owners), commercial customers (greenhouses, hospitals etc) and industrial customers (plants and factories).
