Thermal comfort an automobile is predicted with numericalsimulation. The flow field and temperature distribution are solvedwith a grid system based on many small cubic elements which aregenerated automatically with cabin and passenger configuration.Simulation of temperature is combined with simulation of coolingcycle and calculation of heat transfer at the wall including solarradiation to retreat transient and actual driving conditions of thevehicle. I order to evaluate thermal comfort, transitional effectivetemperature is calculated from simulated thermal conditions andphysiologic values which are calculated by a simple model of a humanthermal system. This system can well predict thermal sensation ofpassengers in short period of time.
