The intensity and volume of technical effort in the microalloying field has been impressive in the 20 years since Microalloying 75. Research efforts its must continue to result in new developments the microalloying field. Today, most steel mills and, especially, minimills, are experiencing a shortage of metallurgical and research personnel. Hence, support for new steelmaking and processing technologies becomes the responsibility of equipment and materials suppliers. -will be ample opportunity for academics and research organizations to vide strategic and scientific leadership or, at least, guidance.
