摘要

A demodulation system for Bragg grating fiber optic sensors is presented, based on the use of a mesa quantum well electroabsorption filtering detector. A resolution ofwas demonstrated in a 1553.5 nm Bragg sensor, corresponding to a wavelength resolution of. A total accessible wavelength range of 90 nm was demonstrated for the system, which allows for wavelength multiplexed sensing schemes. Demodulation systems based on these quantum well devices offer the potential for low-cost, polarization-independent wavelength monitors for tunable lasers, optical multimeters and fiber optic sensing applications.
