Nels Leutwiler began his foray into manufacturing at age 14, packaging stamped parts for his father's company, Parkview Metal Products, in Chicago, IL. Working summer jobs for the company, Nels graduated to toolroom work, and then spent a full year in the plant after earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska in 1974. "Following my one-year stint on the Parkview floor, I returned to Alaska to work on the pipeline to earn money toward furthering my education," he recalls. "I then put myself through law school at he University of Denver. While practicing law in Denver, I also earned a Masters Degree in Planning and Community Development."
