AbstractRatios of the gas transfer rate constants of oxygen to the haloforms CHC13, CHC12Br, CHC1Br2and CHBr3were measured and used to calculate an aqueous half‐life range for each compound. The calculated half‐lives suggest that production and release of haloforms as a result of chlorination of wastewater should not cause these materials to accumulate in the aquatic environm
