Jute is a natural fibre which is abundantly available in India. Inspite of number of shortcomings, the low cost and biodegrability of Jute fibre influence the civil engineer to use it in the geotechnical applications. The physical properties of needle punched nonwoven fabrics are affected by various parameters such as fibre properties, needling parameters and web parameters. The present work endeavours to show how needling parameters and web parameters individually and collectively affect the properties of needle punched crosslaid jute nonwovens.
