摘要

Norway announced plans to build the world's first tunnel for ships, a 1,700-m (5,610-ft) passageway burrowed through a piece of rocky peninsula that will bypass the Stadhavet Sea, the most exposed and dangerous part of the Norwegian coast. The plans for the tunnel were included in the Norwegian National Transport Plan for 2018 to 2029. Construction is estimated to cost NOK 2.7 billion ($314 million). Funding of NOK 1.5 billion ($175 million) is included in the first six years of the plan.
