Canon's answer to the question of whether digital can match the quality of film―the EOS-1Ds―deserves to be taken seriously. The photographer who still hasn't tried digital, unsure if it is "there yet," need look no further than Canon's latest digital SLR body. This impressive camera offers 11.1 megapixels of resolution, using a full frame (24mm x 36mm) CMOS sensor and brand-new imaging engine. What the full frame CMOS sensor provides is the use of the entire focal length range of all lenses. There is no magnification, so a wide-angle 24mm lens on a film-based SLR is the same 24mm on the EOS-1Ds.
