The first treatment of polyester fabric with 5 NaOH and 10 CH_3OH at 60℃ for 10 mins, the following changes are observed: (ⅰ) The chemical treatment decreases the warp way and weft way crease recovery of the fabric. (ⅱ) Air permeability of the fabric increases after the treatment. (ⅲ) Tensile strength of the fabric after the treatment decreases while the elongation at break increases. (ⅳ) After treatment the drape coefficient also reduces. (ⅴ) Pill resistance after the treatment increases to a great extent.
