Because systems of production have long since moved from domestic households to formal organizations, understanding cororate culture has become essential to good business decisions and the ability to manage change. Because of the many hours employees spend in the workplace, business firms have become a substitute for the family unit and other institutional groups within the United States (Morgan 1986, 113). With business changing so rapidly and greater efficiency required, corporate leaders often make decisions without considering the corporate cutture, which has lead to dishamony between the company culture and their business strategies.
