AC drives from ABB featuring the innovative DTC technology (Direct Torque Control) are more precise in their functioning than other drives. This has now been confirmed by a test performed under realistic operating conditions with original system components on the test stand at ABB's motor factory in Helsinki. The system under test, ACS600 MultiDrive system with DTC technology, and the driving machines specifically dimensioned for this application are being used in a two-stand skin-pass mill run by a steel company in Slovakia. These positive test results have made a major contribution towards obtaining the order for another skin-pass mill, featuring a mill stand drive with DTC technology. For the customer's benefit the commissioning time is reduced, thanks to advance optimization and in-depth tests on test stands.
