Childhood pain has received an increasing amount of attention over the past decade. It remains, however, an underestimated and undertreated problem. Chronic pain in children is not uncommon. Our abilities to recognize and assess pain are areas of importance for further research. These areas, however, are complicated by the dynamic developmental aspects of childhood. The multidisciplinary approach seems to offer the greatest benefit to children with chronic pain.
