Liggett Group will begin test marketing a new snus in a number of retail markets in the US in May. The pouched tobacco product is called Grand Prix Snus, connecting it with Liggett's Grand Prix cigarette brand, described by the company as the fastest growing cigarette brand in the US in the past two years. Grand Prix Snus will be value priced and will be available in Original, Spearmint and Win-tergreen. It will be manufactured in Sweden under an agreement with Snusab, a Stockholm-based manufacturer of premium snus products. The president and chief executive officer of Liggett Group said the company had been closely watching the growth and development of the US snus market.
