New or larger spring pockets, extra oil channels, improved guide components, in-die electronics, state-of-the-art tool-steel and coating formulations all create opportunities for Oberg Industries to return rebuilt dies to customers in better-than-new condition.Replacing worn and broken die components is a fact of life for metal stampers. Properly maintained, dies can last several years, even decades. Even the most conscientious effort to perform regularly scheduled periodic maintenance can't prevent the die from eventually losing its ability to stamp or form the high-quality tight-tolerance parts for which it was initially designed. That's when it's time for a rebuild-to completely disassemble the die, regrind its castings, rebore holes and so on. It's also an opportunity to add new features to the die and make other changes to improve its performance and longevity.
