AbstractSearch trajectories are determined with a research‐model, fully‐parallel, digital computer which has approximately the same speed capability as analogue computers and is constructed on similar design principles. Solution accuracy sensitivity to both algorithm and problem parameters is demonstrated. The advantages of speed and reliability of parallel digital circuits, in combination with the problem‐simplifying penalty function method, provides an improved optimization technique for applications in which speed rather than accuracy is the primary requir
