Founded on April 30, 2003, Huamei Thread Company is a Sino-American joint venture between Ningbo Veken Elite Group and American Efird International located in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, which is regarded as the main production base of China's textile industry. Huamei has three affiliated plants - one in spinning and the others in sewing and embroidery thread sectors. With an annual production capacity in excess of 10,000 tons of sewing and embroidery threads, Huamei is the largest sewing thread manufacturer both in China and in Asia, employing some 1,000 people and serving customers in nearly 100 countries and regions.
