When Dofasco built its new EAF and NO. 2caster facility in 1996, no room was available for tundish repair, The company ultimately chose to repair the new 30 metric ton tundishes in the same aisle with the 65 metric ton tundishes from the No. 1caster. The decision resulted in substantial savings.
