The development of machines for new processes with advanced technologies in the synthetic filament domain is the responsibility of the synthetic system business unit. The strong position in the market occupied by synthetic systems is supported by constant innovation in their core product range of fibre extrusion, drawing, twisting and texturing machines. At this year's ITMA, the Lohia Group introduced the new LoFil range of Spin-Draw-Wind (SDW) Machinery for polypropylene mul-tifilament yarn production (Fig. 1). These machines are based on the concept of a central extrusion module, which is combined with different roller modules, to allow the production of different yarn types such as POY, FDY and HT (High Tenacity) for a wide variety of end-uses such as sportswear, upholstery, automotive interior fittings or industrial/technical applications.
