This article discusses the transformation of society from Industrial Society to Information Society and the resulting implications on civilization and world of business. Theories and ideas of Toffler, Drucker, Naisbitt, and other Western civilization futurists are compared and contrasted and cognitively analyzed, along with the theories and ideas of two different Japanese futurists and event he notorious Unabomber, to present to thorough study of contemporary societal change-primarily focusing on Western civilization. The second section deals with the concept of work/family relation-ships and flexible work relationships as a result of the transformation to Information Society in the United States. The ideas and theories are discusses as well as compared and contrasted to present a cognitive analysis of current and future flexible workplace situations and their related societal and organizational implications. The third section covers professional practice and societal development from the viewpoint of successful empowerment and teamwork for a new workforce
