As the 1960s Dawned, Central Airlines was entering its adolescence. The company was eleven years old (measured from the date of its first flight) and lagging in last place among the thirteen local service carriers in most areas of comparative measurement. But one area in which Central exceeded was in on-time performance. Keith Kahle proudly reported in the airline's 1960 annual report that "Your company has constantly been among the top three of the nations local airlines in regard to on-time flying. This record is one of great pride with Central employees."
