This report refers to our newly developed odor discrimination system, which is often called an electronic nose system. This new system utilizes a combination of multiple metal-oxide-semiconductor odor sensors and an odor trap tube. This system has various features such as the functions to classify odors at any of the three sensitivity levels, to-note, middle-note, and last-note levels, the high sensitivity detection capability comparable to that of human noses, and the capability to directly analyze alcoholic drinks, without prior sample pretreatment.
