Festo claims that the stroke-rate of its rodless pneumatic cylinders rises from 13 double strokes in 20 seconds to 21 double strokes if its new its soft stop is incorporated into the control system.This Soft-Stop is an electronic means by which power can be removed from a cylinder - causing its to deceleration in a swift yet controlled manner. By allowing the cylinder to begin its deceleration later in the stroke cycle, this soft-stop facilitates an increased stroke-rate.
