Even the most optimistic advocate of new rules to eliminate the de facto sales tax advantage of electronic retailers wouldn't dare count on Congress for help during an election year. At best, the supporters of a sauce-for-the-gander Internet sales tax collection policy wish that the House and Senate will simply do nothing, leave the current I-tax moratorium in place, and go home to campaign for reelection.
