A FOOD PACKAGE THAT COULD actively subdue bacterial growth on its surfaces—now there's an idea to make a food safety professional's heart thump. It's not a new idea, of course. The Zeomic~(R) zeolite technology from Mitsubishi International, for example, was the subject of conversation among food packaging RDers three to four years ago (FOOD PROCESSING, September 1991), but for whatever reasons, not much has been heard about it lately.
