While some see Iraqi Basra Heavy as a good replacement for lost Venezuelan barrels in the US Gulf Coast market,ChpperData reports that Iraq seems to be sending its crude to European and Asian customers looking for replacements for Iranian barrels,leaving little to send to the US.Asia has already established itself as Iraq's biggest export market in recent years,taking almost 60 of the country's international sales in 2018.So far this year,India has been the top destination for Iraqi crude,as it has increased imports from Iran's neighbor.China follows as the number-two customer,although it has purchased sHghdy less in the initial weeks of 2019.South Korea has boosted its purchased of Iraqi crude so far this year.
